Re-imaging Refugee stories

While serving as the Senior Engagement Manager for UNHCR’s innovation team, our CEO and Founder, Erin led creative direction and strategy for a number of marketing and storytelling campaigns that aimed to better engage Americans in the global refugee crisis. The innovation team tested new technology and messaging theories to tell the story of refugees in new and innovative ways.

Campaign highlights:

  • #RainbowRefugees: a global campaign that elevated the conversation about LGBTI refugees through storytelling and creating authentic and creative visuals that resonated with key audiences.

  • Women on the Run: a global podcast that told the stories of women asylum seekers and refugees from South America.

  • Straight Outta: Following popularity of the Straight Outta Compton meme the team created refugee focused images.
